Student Role Play
Please prepare a Student role play. Your sample should include a general summary for all participants and specific additional facts only available to each side to the negotiation. For example, in the sale of a used car, your general summary should provide basic information about the car and its value based on publicly available websites like Kelly Blue Book. Additional facts for the Buyer may include items like the Buyer has been looking for a red car with select features for some time or really needs a car because his/her car is not working. Additional facts for the Seller could be that the Seller needs cash immediately to pay his/her tuition. The Sample Role Play needs to be submitted electronically. A Sample Role Play has been included in Cougar Courses to provide guidance.
I will select 2 or 3 of the role plays for the class to use as an assignment. You should select a partner to conduct one of the role plays. It would be best to pick another classmate, although I understand that some of you will not be able to do so. If that is a case, please use a friend, family member, significant other, etc. to conduct a role play. You should video the role play, if possible, and send it to me by the required date. If you cannot video your role play, a written summary can be sent. If 2 students conduct the role play together, you only need to send one recording/summary but please specify in your email submission the names of both students that participated so that you both get Participation credit.
